Mike Eden, the founder of Eden Tool and president of Eden Manufacturing, passed away unexpectedly over the Christmas holiday.
We lost one of the great ones. Mike was born and raised in New Freedom and enjoyed making people laugh. He was caring, selfless, and an innovator in his field. Mike's knowledge of injection molds and tool building was unparalleled. He founded Eden Tool Company in 2000 where he specialized in high-precision plastic injection molds and was a certified mold maker.
Mike treated everyone with kindness and respect. His positive attitude, determination, and devotion were vital in establishing Eden Tool Company and building it into today's innovative and respected company. A common saying was, “We will do whatever it takes to help.” Mike was always there to help and offer guidance and knowledge whenever needed. Mike was continuously building into the next generation of American manufacturers. His passion for the craft, the Eden team, cars, and his family were unmatched. Mike had a passion and love for many things, but none more significant than his two children, Jake and Rachel.
The two companies' leadership passes to Mike's partner, Dave Tomic, and son, Jake Eden.
Instead of flowers, a scholarship prize has been created to honor Mike and his passion, American Manufacturing and specifically mold manufacturing. Donations will be collected to buy Gerstner toolboxes. First or second-year apprentices in the mold-making industry will have the opportunity to apply and win the many toolboxes as they are available.
This will be an ongoing opportunity to remember Mike in a positive way and support this essential industry.
